why do you think pastoral groups often live on the edges of forests

Maybe because then they'll have plenty to eat and not far to travel if they feel like dining

@h@@iiii:-

they do so bcoz their communities were hugely effected by shifting cultivation... they were nt settled..! they changed places when they found d resources in shortage.. n forests r considered as best sources...! forests has plants, grass where they can graze their cattle.. fresh air.. & water ... they did cultivation.. so they used nearby water.. ie water frm ponds, lakes, rivers., etc... nt only dis.. dey collected forest products n then sell dem...! they also used forest products like fruits n many other commodities for their survival.. so, as far as forests were totally beneficial n provided as gud sources...! dey often lived on d edge of forests...!

hey.. i only remember dis frm 9th class :P.. so, i put on everything i remember.. dnt knw if it's gud/...!

bt still i tried n hope it's right.....:) :)

Pastoral groups often lived on edges of forest because the outskirts of forest had grasslands which provided them with  enough food for their cattle. They could gather food and other useful mateials for living from  forest  with ease due to proximity.

Pastoral groups often lived near the edges of forests so that they could graze their flocks of animals in the forest as well as cultivate fields next to the forest area. They were selling the milk and milk products from the animals in the local market and also cultivating land for their requirements of food. By living on the edge of forests, both of these activities were conveniently handled.
