why does sound travel faster in denser metals but slower in denser air

speed of sound depends on density of the medium in which it is travelling and increases when density increases. For example sound travels faster in solids than in liquids and more faster in gas then liquids. And the density in solids is higher, medium than liquids, least in gas

no buddy there is a different concept in this case for eg- sound travel fater in hydrogen gas than oxygen but hydrogen is less denser than oxygen in metals sound travel faster in iron than lead but here iron is more denser than lead
