Why dose mensuration doesn't occur in female for six months after giving birth to a baby???

After giving birth to a baby the body has to revert back to normal hormonal regulation and menstruation. If the mother is breast feeding menstruation will occur late because prolactin is released which suppress ovulation. After giving birth safe sex is recommended to avoid pregnancy because most of the woman do not ovulate but some of them ovulate even without menstruation.
