Why have new rights been added to fundamental rights from time to time? Give few examples.

Dear Student,

a. Constitution  and its chapter on Fundamental rights is not a fixed document rather it reflects the changes in the society.
b. It needs to be amended as per the needs and changing aspirations of the society.
c. Its provisions  rather  itself continuously .
d. The scope of our Fundamental rights is also widened by the Supreme court which interprets the constitution so that it reflects contemporary realities.

e. We may give example of how right to life has been interpreted in terms of right to live a dignified life. Also a series of amendments have widened the scope of our constitution. For instance, Right to education was incorporated and is now a fundamental right.. Right to education has been included in the chapter on Fundamental rights under Right to freedom. The right has been incorporated under Article 21 A of the Indian constitution and aims at providing free and compulsory  education for children from 6 to 14 years of age
f. It can surely be considered as a landmark achievement. Thus, the rights make it legal obligation on state and union government to implement and enforce Article 21 A.
g. Thus, new rights are added to respond to the demands and interest of the society.
