why have the conformers havent adpoted to become regulators in evolution?

Regulators have thermoregulation which is expensive for some organisms.

Organisms such as humming bird hav to spend a lot of energy to keep itself warm though in cooler regions. Hence, they aren't found in polar regions.

Which group of organisms, regulators or conformers, can show maximum functional efficiency regardless of the existing weather conditions? Why?

1. Maintenance requires high energy. 2. Heat gain and loss is the function of surface area. 3. For small animals they have large surface area relative to their volume so for this reason they loose heat fairly and this is the reason that small animals are rarely found in polar regions..

It's loose heat fastly not fairly
