why indian ocean is name after india only why not other place ?????????????

Indian Ocean is named after India because India is the only country which has such a long coastline on the ocean and it is India's eminent position that justifies the naming of an ocean after it. Hope this will help.

The Indian landmass has a central location between east and west Asia. India is a southward extension of Asia.

The trans indian ocean routes which connect the European Countries in the west and the Asian Countries in the East , provide a strategic central location to India.

The Deccan Plateau protrudes into the Indian Ocean thus helping India To establish close contact with;

WEST ASIA,AFRICA and EUROPE from the western coast

SOUTHEAST and EAST ASIA from the Eastern coast

No other country has such a long coastline on the Indian Ocean,thus Naming of an ocean after India is absolutely correct......
