WHY IS DIPOLE MOVEMENT OF BF3 0? PLZ TELL ME HOW TO CALCULATE ITS DIPLOE MOVEMENT

Even though the B-F bonds are polar in nature, yet the BF3 molecule is non-polar because the resultant dipole moment of the molecule is zero. BF3 molecule has trigonal planar shape with sp2 hybridisation. It has the following structure

Thus, although the B – F bonds are oriented at an angle of 120° to one another, the resultant of bond moments of two bonds is equal and opposite to the third bond, because of which the three bond moments give a net sum of zero. As a result, the molecule as a whole is non-polar
