Why is equality important in a democratic country?

The complete meaning is "equality before the law". That means in court we are all equal. There is no king or nobles that have a higher standing. Also that means people meaning the requirements to vote get to do so. Again, no royalty with more votes or veto power,if you excuse basis judges that want to create meanings where none exist.
