why is geographic north known as true north

Dear student

Our earth is assumed to have a strong magnet with south pole near the geographic north pole and the north pole of the magnet near the geographic south pole.

The Geographical North pole and South pole are the points, in the northern and southern hemisphere, through which the earth’s axis of rotation pass.

The Magnetic North pole is the point near the Geographic North pole at which a magnetic compass points vertically downwards.

The Magnetic South pole is the point near the Geographic South pole at which a magnetic compass points vertically upwards.

this the reason for your question.
