why is groundwater a renewable resource?

Dear Student,

A renewable resource is considered a natural resource that replenishes naturally upon depletion. Natural resources are used for consumption, and form part of Earth's natural environment. Food, air and water can be considered natural resources that are included inside the renewable resources category.
Ground Water is technically considered a renewable resource because it can be used over and over again and it has a rain cycle. However, it is only in the short-term that water can be thought of as a renewable resource and the sustainability of this renewable resource is questionable.
