WHY IS LOK SABHA CALLED HOUSE OF PEOPLE?

1)  Rajya Sabha or Council of States is the upper house of Parliament and it consists of the representatives of the States and Union Territories and persons nominated by the President of India.

2)  The members of Lok Sabha are directly elected by means of election and adult suffrage

3)  Since it represents people, it is called House of People and is the Lower House of the Parliament.

All of its members are directly elected by citizens of India on the basis of universal adult franchise, except two who are appointed by the President of India. Every citizen of India who is over 18 years of age, irrespective of gender, caste, religion or race, who is otherwise not disqualified, is eligible to vote for the lok sabha. Therefore as people are directly involved and a have a greater involvement here than other houses, its called house of ppl.     thumbs up if u think it is correct
