Why is manure slowly absorbed by the soil?

Dear student,Manure is not readily soluble in water. Thus, it is absorbed by the plants slowly. Fertilizers are soluble in water and are readily absorbed by the plants.Fertilizers are nutrient specific and provide specific nutrients to the soil. Regards
