Why is the female reproductive system more complex than the male reproductive system ?

Female reproductive system is more complex as compared to that of males. The complexity of sexual structures in females is due to the fact that it produces sex cells, accepts sperms from male and supports their movement up to egg, fertilization , implantation, embryo development and supports subsequent post fertilization changes. Production of hormones, having complex reproductive organs (Ovary, Oviducts, Uterus and Vagina) and mammary glands are also the other features of the female reproductive system.

 The female reproductive system is more complex than the male's because it serves more purposes. Whereas the male needs only to produce and deliver gametes the female must do this as well as provide nutrition and safe harbor for fetal development and then give birth and nourish the infant. Furthermore female reproductive physiology is cyclic and female hormones are secreted in a more complex sequence compared to the relatively steady simultaneous secretion of regulatory hormones in the male.

 female reproductive system is more complex bcoz the baby develops in the female body only. Sperms are sent 2  the oviduct via vagina during copulation . fertilisation of sprem and ova take place in oviduct only then the baby also develops in the body of female i.e uterus.So i think for dis reason female reproductive system is more complex. plzzz thumbzzz up Jenie if it helps
