why is the tungsten filament being used in the bulb?why not iron?

Pure tungsten has some amazing properties including the highest melting point (3695 K), lowest vapor pressure, and greatest tensile strength out of all the metals.Because of these properties it is the most commonly used material for light bulb filaments and not iron.

Because resitance produces heat and light. the more resistance more light. Tungusten has more resistance than Iron so it's used.

The melting point and of Tungsten is an alloy which has very high melting point and very high resistivity so does not burn easily at a high temperature.
