Why light got curve when it gets closer to the black hole and then again goes straight?

due to high gravity of the black hole . the black hole have the escape velocity greater then light .
even light cannot escape it thats why it is appear black . so when light passes closer to the black hole ... it tries to take the light inside its gravity ... if the light is far away then it will bend and go straight when the field of the black hole got minimize as we go farther from the hole .
