why photolysis occurs only during non-cyclic photophosphorylation

Dear student,
In non cyclic phosphorylation, there is presence of PS II in which oxidized reaction centre is present. This centre accepts the electrons released from water. PS II is absent in cyclic phosphorylation so photolysis does not take place in it.

because , in non cyclic phosphorylation the PII system come under work which is associated with low wavelength (680nm)
as we know low wavelength is associated with high energy . hence this energy need to overcome, the photolysis of water.also, this step occur in photosystem II
