Why scrotum are generally dark in colour?

The colour in and around the male genitalia has variation because of the basic complexion that is brown or black individuals have more dark areas while white races may have less of this darkness, but the scientific reason behind the fact is due to puberty changes occur in males body which produces more sex hormones androgen and adrenal. Androgen responds to melanocytes these are skin cell that produces melanin which results in the darker colour looking groin and scrotum.
