why sea water is salty

The saltiness of sea water is a combined result of several natural forces and interactions. When rains fall on barren mountains they dissolve the content of the mountains in form of salts and reach the sea bringing the salt along. Salts also become more concentrated in the sea as the suns heat vaporizes pure water from the sea leaving salts behind.
