Why seeds act as physiological engima

Seeds contain embryos which are a new plant in a miniature form. Seeds are physically and structurally equipped for their role as a dispersal unit and are well provided with food reserves to sustain the growing seedling units which eventually establish themselves as self-sufficient autotrophic organisms.
Therefore, seeds are referred to as physiological enigma.
