why should business assume social responsibility

PS: DO NOT ADVISE TO REFER TO THE NOTES.

Dear Student, the answer to this question is already available in the concerned revision note of this chapter (as directed by Ms. Shvetika Sharma). It has been written in simple and easy to learn language. Do let us know, if you are facing any difficulty or your concerns in this regard.

Anyway, I am trying to present the same thing in other way around.
  1. Fulfilling social responsibilities enhances long-term growth prospects of a business,  since it helps a business to earn positive goodwill in the market.
  2. Helps a business to avoid government to intervene in its operations, since a business itself is taking care of the ethics.
  3. Lay a safe environment that is conducive for business growth. A society with greater participation of people, having lesser number of unemployed people, more literate people and people enjoying higher standards of living- all help a business to grow even faster.
  4. It can be said that a business fulfilling its social responsibilities finds greater availability of resources, since society willingly contributes the resources to the business. This further enhances the growth prospects of a business.
The above explanation so provided is just for your understanding purpose. But we will be looking forward to you to let us know the problem or the difficulty that you faced while going through this topic in the revision notes. Your feedback is really very important for us.

We do appreciate your efforts in putting forth your feedback and suggestions. Keep posting!!
