Why shoulder bags are provided with broad straps and not thin straps

Shoulder bags are provided with broad straps because it has larger surface area than the thin strap and hence the pressure exerted on the shoulder becomes less than the thin strap.

The broad straps of school bags reduce the pressure on the shoulder or on the hand. We know,

Pressure = Force/Area

So, increasing the area decreases the pressure.

In case of thin straps the, the area is small and hence pressure is large. For larger straps the area is large thus reducing the pressure.

Shoulder bags are provided with broad strips because it causes carrying it easily if they would have thin strips and if weight would also be heavy so it would be very painful to carry. For example we take a sharp whereas thin knife in kitchen to cut fruits and vegetables as if it would be blunt and broad so we wouldn't be able to cut fruits and vegetables with that knife.

AS WE KNOW AREA INCREASES PRESSURE DECREASES so if the belts of bags with broad area will decrease the pressure on shoulders.

Because pressure is directly proptional to the area of object. So if area is incrases pressure decreses due to which we experience less pressure on our shoulders.
