why tropical cyclones only happen in areas near to equator?

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

Tropical cyclones do not happen near the equator. This is because at equator air tends to flow straightly to centers where pressure is low and also, the coriolis force (type of force created due to earth’s rotation which acts on the body of a moving object like airplane, air current etc. by deflecting them from their original path)  is zero here. This force favours the formation of tropical cyclones.
