Alexander the great of Macedonia invaded north -western India in the fourth century B.C ,when the Nandas were ruling over Magadha .He conquered some small kingdoms and reached the river beas .He could not advance beyond the Beas  because his tired soldier were afraid to face the war elephant of the mighty Magadhan army.So Alexander decided to return.
Different people have different reasons for Alexander death.Like Alexander died due to alcoholic liver disease,fever and strychnine poisoning.Some said that he died due to the typhoid fever .
