Why was narrator invited to rangappa's house?

The narrator was invited to Rangappa's house because he was the person who made Ratna and Ranga  together and gave Ranga a suitable wife or a good partner. Ranga put his son's name as "Shyama", name of the narrator and invited him for his(Ranga's) son's birthday. Ranga honoured the narrator.
