Why was Virginia affaired of the ghost???

Virginia was the only person who did not enter into the joke about the blood stain. For some inexplicable reason, she was always quite distressed at the sight of the blood stain and very nearly cried the morning it turned out to be emerald green. As it turned out, she had not been afraid but appalled that the ghost was stealing the paints out of her box to try and furbish up the blood stain the in the library. He had taken all the reds including the vermilion which meant she could not paint sunsets anymore and then her emerald green and chrome-yellow. Finally she had been left with nothing but indigo and Chinese white which could only be used for moonlight scenes that she found depressing and difficult to paint. She had never told on him but she had been very much annoyed at the entire episode, especially the use of emerald green for blood.
