why we want to carry oxygen cylinder with us when we are going in space

Beacuse their is no oxygen in the space so we want to carry pxygen cylinder.

Space is vacuum that is it does not contain any gases. it has no atmosphere and there is no air in it. As human beings we need oxygen to breathe. even a very small lack of oxygen may cause death of the individual. Hence astronauts have to take oxygen with them in space to breathe in the absence of air and thus oxygen.
