It depends on the question
In the case you mentioned, the relation is that x is a
fruit
So, we are just bothered with the name of the fruit, not the
spellings
So, just write the name of fruit as APPLE
Had it been that x is the fruit in which the letters do
not repeat, then the fruit APPLE, will not belong to the set
