Sir,

Subject: Wrong eating habits of youngsters

I wish to use the columns of your esteemed daily to bring to the notice of the general public the wrong eating habits of youngsters these days.

Children and young adults do not want to eat proper meals of rice, chapati, vegetables and pulses, along with some meats and eggs. They are now used to having junk food- be it samosas, pakoras, pizzas, noodles or burgers. Colas and other aerated drinks have replaced milk and lemonade. Processed food is given preference over fresh food. This has led to obesity, diabetes, heart trouble and digestive problems in youngsters. They do not get nutritional food, rather they eat packaged food which has more chemicals and preservatives. We need to get back to the practice of having three proper meals with a balanced diet. Snacks should have friuts, nuts, yogurt.

I hope that the youngsters and their parents will take appropriate measures to check this unhealthy practice of eating junk food.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,

ABC
