Sir,

Subject: Ways to improve poor hygienic conditions in our colony.

I on behalf of our colony, found an urgent need to address the problem of poor hygienic condition of the lake in our area to your knowledge.
The water of the lake is extremely dirty and a foul smell emanates from it. Sewage water flows into it, people wash their clothes in its water, factories dump waste in the lake water. It has not been cleaned for years. It gives out such a foul smell that it has become difficult staying in our colony. There are garbage dumps all along the lake front, algae and moss cover the surface of the lake. The municipal authorities need to start a cleanliness drive and involve the local residents in its efforts. Factories throwing their waste in the lake need to be fined heavily. Unless prompt action is taken, the unhygienic conditions could cause the spread of disease and decay.

I hope that we make a campaign against such a dirty havoc created by the lake and make posters, notes in and outside our campus. This would bring some awareness among the residents and you can also approach the colony president or Muncipal Corporation for the same.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,
Sangeeta
