Write a paragraph on " Forget And Forgive".

Dear student,

The answer is as follows:

FORGET AND FORGIVE

"Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace," is one of the most wise advises given by someone. Though forgiveness is seen by most as an act of philosophical and emotional nature, yet the benefits go beyond just abstract feelings. The person who is quick to forgive and forget is happier than others, reaping the benefit of utilising their time in fruitful pursuits rather than resentful anger. Such a person is also healthier, with ailments like depression, heart disease, chronic headaches etc. keeping away from him or her.

The social benefits of forgiveness include continued positive relationships, long lasting friendships, career advancements, strong family bonds and a network of well wishers. We all err at times, and expect our misbehaviour or hurtful words to be forgiven by others, hence it is our reciprocal responsibility to also do so. Though it takes a strong will to do so and is not always easy, yet we should strive to reach that stage of forgiveness through conscious effort.

Even if one does not forget, the way to look back is to gracefully think of the incident that hurt us and remove the bitterness. This will actually lead to more wisdom, patience, enlightenment and ultimate freedom from negative thoughts that enslave no one but ourselves. It is said that anger and resentment are punishments that we give ourselves for a bad behaviour done by another person! Within this context, the healing powers of forgiveness cannot be over emphasized.

It is only on an empty plate tthat we can place delicious, life giving food. So for the mind that we empty of negative past memories so we can sow in it ideas for social and economic reform, scietific innovation, love, charity, creativity and business success. If we unveil the life of most successful people, they have been ditched by their closest aides, left by the one they trusted and also cheated by those they depended on the most. Yet they shook off the bitterness, forgave quickly, forgot the incident but not its lesson, and made a succes of their lives. Even philosophers, saints, sufi monks tell us the same.

The best examples of forgive and forget are small children and pet dogs. Even if we scold them, deny them something or are not fair to them in a situation, they have forgotten all about it and within moments are hugging us or wagging their tail in delight to see us. Only if we could be like them, the lesson of forgive ane forget could beacome our second nature!
