Known as the fourth pillar of democracy, media plays a crucial role in the making of a healthy democracy. It acts as a bridge between people and the government. Media has some crucial roles to play in a democracy such as, reflecting the problems of the people the government and protecting the fundamental rights of the citizen.
Media constantly keeps us connected to people around the globe. Nowadays, social media and television media are the two most influential forms of mass media, yet print media has not lost its stature. Media has been helpful even at the time of crisis. Last year and even this year when Covid-19 was at its peak, press reporters were in their offices and on the road providing us with the latest information. They regularly told us to maintain hygiene and follow necessary precautions.
Sometimes, the credibility of online media has been in talks due to spreading fake news and rumors, which presents the evil face of media. Even after such allegations, the media has been successful in keeping its promising face in front of us.
