Madame Forestier was a kind and rich lady who proved to be a true friend to Matilda. When Matilda wanted to borrow jewels to wear, she turned to Madame Forestier for help. Without any hesitation, she offered her entire collection of jewellery for Matilda to choose from. She did not pester Matilda when she was late in returning her necklace. She was highly sympathetic at the end of the story when she learned the truth about Matilda's misunderstanding and struggle to return her necklace.She instantly told Matilda the truth about the original necklace being a fake.
