The skin of the dead animal is first put in a fermenting solution where microorganisms looses the hair and wool present on skin and also dissolves proteins present in the skin. Tanning is then done through adding of chromium salts. The leather is then hung for several days. The dressing is done through cutting the leather to desired thickness, colouring, and treatment with oil and drying and treating the leather with albumins etc
