A chemical change involves the conversion of a set of substances into new substances with different characteristics.
The substances that react with each other are called reactants and the substances that are formed as a result of the change are called products.
Iron in presence of moisture reacts with oxygen in air to form rust. Rust is a compound formed iron oxide and is composed of iron and oxygen.  So, reactants,  iron metal, and oxygen gas, react to form the product iron oxide.
