The government took the following measures: 

• The government asked all the collectors and the chief medical officers to take urgent measures. 
• The problem of drinking water was also taken care of .
• The Chief Minister promised funds  to supply drinking water to every village through tanker trucks. 
• Started a campaign to inform people about the steps that can be taken to prevent diarrhoea.
