8th January, 2016 Today was a very busy day. We were totally occupied with the preparations for the 'SMOKING KILLS YOU BUT NOT YOUR BILLS' campaign. This is a campaign that I have planned for along with a few of my friends. We planned to start this when we saw few girls and boys buying cigarettes from a shop opposite to our school. We were very shocked and wondered what example our seniors would set for us. We swore that we wouldn't learn to smoke from them, but would try and stop them and other smokers in our village from harming themselves just for the momentary pleasure. We asked for permission from our principal to conduct the campaign in the school ground, for which he readily agreed, to our great joy! We have worked very hard for the campaign from the past month and have even called a doctor from the Bangalore city to explain the ill effects of smoking and how it would affect not only the smoker but also the ones around him or her. I am both nervous and excited for tommorow!

No, no! Malavika, your format was correct but then. you have to remember that a diary entry should have only 25% facts and rest 75% should be about your feelings on the event.

Dear diary,
Today was a remarkable indeed! I was part of  a team who had the motive of implementing the initiative of campaigning against smoking in villages. We went along the whole place, sticking posters of the topic. You should have seen the villagers' reaction at the moment. They were glowing with joy to know that there were indeed people who wished to put a stop to the growing issue. I feel proud that I have done my contribution. Our hands were dirty with sand and dust but our faces were shining with a huge grin. My mother and father congratulated me on the success. I am happy. Today's a day to remember for days to come. I don't know if our campaign had any direct effects on the issue, but that thought will wait for the principal's office tomorrow. I feel hungry as if I want to do more. I need to satisfy that hunger for now, if you please.
