Today, I am very happy to receive the gift of Triveni's novel 'Kashi Yatre'. I just fell in love with the old lady who is the central character of the novel. I could identify myself with her. Actually, the serialisation of this novel in the Kannada weekly, Karmaveera prompted me to know more about the old lady. I, too was once had the desire of visiting Kashi and worshipping Lord Vishweshwara as the ultimate 'punya'. I fully support this old lady in giving all her savings to the orphan girl. She rightly thought it was more of an action of 'punya' than visiting Kashi. I, would have done the same thing. 

 I would cherish this novel more as it enabled me to be literate. With this novel, a lot of fond memories are associated. Due to this novel, I had the unique experience of getting taught by my granddaughter. I shall keep 'Kashi Yatre' as my holy book. May my granddaughter live long!
