Today, I was disheartened to realise that there is a huge gap betwen the affluent and the poor in our society. - I attended my cousin's wedding today. - The celebrations were on a grand scale, with a lot of money spent on the decorations, food, fireworks, gifts, etc. - We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves. - As I stepped out of the pandal, I witnessed a completely different scenario. - Street children and beggars were fighting over the leftover food in used plates. - They wore dirty clothes, looked undernourished and unwell. - That made me reflect on whether we need to spend luxuriously on pomp and show. - It would have been better if my cousin's family had decided to feed some underprivileged children instead of spending lavishly on decorations.

Date : ________ Time : _______ Dear diary , Recently I visited a wedding . I was surprised to see the ostentatious display of wealth. The food was being at a very high scale by number of people. People were wasting the food recklessly . How much lightning was being wasted !! I felt too sad to see the disparity in society. On one side where so much food is wasted by rich people, the other side number of poors are sleeping without food. On one side light is being wasted ,while other side there is no light in the house of poors . I felt so sad to see such a difference between the rich and the poor.
