9 p.m.

Dear Diary,

I went to a magic show this morning and it was the most wonderful experience I have had in a long time. My school had arranged this magic show at the nearby general auditorium and made an excursion out of it for the senior students. The name of the magician was Mr. Mystery Man and he put on a show worth all the applause that came his way. There was a display of pyrotechnics as well on stage. He performed the usual magician's repertoire of card tricks, pulling the rabbit out of the hat and then came difficult ones like the Chinese Escape, the Cabinet Escape and the Dagger Head Box and so on. The students were treated quite lavishly by the show organisers, we were given cakes and chocolates while watching the programme and then Mr Mystery Man came up and chatted with us. He also taught us a few easy tricks like slip of the hand. It was an immensely enjoyable experience because it brought out this inner kid in us, a break from the usual onslaught of studies and gave us a chance to reconnect with that inner kid.
