Area of cross section of the river = 3 × 40 = 120 m2.Rate of water flow = 2km/h = (2000/60) m/minVolume of water flowing through this cross-section in every minute = Area × Rate= (120)×(2000/60) = 4000 m3 = 4000×106 cc = 40,00,000 Litres

flowing rate that is, length=2km/hr=200/6m/minute.

therefore volume of water that flows into the sea in 1 minute=3(40)(200/6)

=4000m

=4000(1000)litres.
