Is there any formula for inelastic collision??????????????

Hi Deepti!

Suppose the masses of two bodies are m1 and m2 respectively. Also their initial speed be v1i and v2i respectively. While their final velocities be v1f and v2f respectively.

Coefficient of restitution is defined as ratio of relative speed of separation after collision and relative speed before collision, i.e.

@Vaisakh: Your equation is correct for perfectly inealastic collisions (e = 0), when two bodies stick together and move.

Hope you find it useful!
Best wishes!!

yes there is!...

FORMULA  FOR  PERFECTLY INELASTIC COLLISION IS ::

m_1 mathbf v_{1,i} + m_2 mathbf v_{2,i} =
left( m_1 + m_2 right) mathbf v_f ,
mathbf v_f=frac{m_1 mathbf v_{1,i} + m_2
mathbf v_{2,i}}{m_1 + m_2}
