A diver jumping from a spring board exhibits somersaults in air before touching the water surface. How does he take advantage of the principlenof conservation of angular momentum?

According to law of conservation of angular momentum the rate of spin of the diver increases as he/she draws their arms and legs inwards. This is because the radial distance decreases which increases the angular speed as mass stays constant.

since the principle of conservation of angular momentum says that if the distance from the centre of rotational axis is less than number of rotations increases because I=w*r.so,the diver folds his body to increase number of rotations.
