A particle moves under the effect of force of F=cx from x=0 to x=x 1. The work done in the process is  (i)cx12 (ii) 1/2 cx12 (iii)cx13 (iv) zero .

Hi Papu,

The force given here is dependent on the position of the particle. So, we will have to find  the work done on the particle for a small displacement and then integrate it to find the net work done by the force over the displacement from x = 0 to x = x1
We have, F = cx.
For a small displacement dx the work done on the particle is,

Hope this helps you understand how to solve problems of this kind.
