Can u please help on how to find the hybridization state using Valance Bond Theory? I tried reading from the study materal but couldn't understand.
One thing is that if you know the geometry of the molecules you can easily identify the hybrization in the molecule. As shown below.
If you don't know the geometry then you have to draw the valence shell electronic configuration . Then make the hybrid orbital as such that it can form bond with ligand as shown below:
