Euro norms are the norms applied for regulating and controlling vehicular emissions in Europe. These are expressed in terms of the weight of the pollutants like carbon monoxide (CO), hydro-carbons (HC), oxides of nitrogen (Nox) and particulate matters (PM) emitted by a vehicle per kilometer of a vehicular run. These limits have been fixed for different types of vehicles. For example, there are defined limits of emission levels for petrol driven and diesel driven vehicles. As a result of these Euro norms, the vehicle manufacturers have to make certain technical changes in their vehicles to reduce the existing emission levels in a more efficient manner.
