explain how to find n -factor of Na2SO4

Dear Student,

The computation / method are as expressed below,
Na2SO4  in terms of salt is Na2SO4.nH2Omolar mass of salt = 142 + 18nfor example if we consider 26.8 g of Na2SO4 is dissolved in 12.6 g of water we get,mass of water = 12.626.8(142+18n)18n=12.626.8(142+18n)n = 7 so the formula will become Na2SO4.7H2Ohence by knowing mass of water and salt the n value can be found using above steps.

Regards.

N factor of an acid or a base is the number of H+ ions or OH- ions it donates in a reaction. in case of h2so4 number of H+ ions it donates is 2.hence n factor is two
