if one root of a quadratic equation 3x2 + Px + 4 = 0 is 2/3 , find the value of p

  • 0
here the value of "p" will come (-8) .... :-)
  • 1

3x2 + px +4 = 0

x = 2/3

3(2/3)2 + p(2/3) + 4 = 0

3(4/9) + 2/3 p + 4 = 0

4/3 + 2/3 p + 4 = 0

2/3 p = 4- 4/3

by LCM,

2/3 P = 8/3

P = 8/3 - 2/3

P = 6/3

Therefore P = 2
