in pyrrole what is hybridisation of N SP2 OR SP3 i.e. l.p. on N are in SP3 or unhybridised p orbital

Dear Student,

The hybridizations of N is sp3 but while attaching with five-membered ring pyridine N must have to shift to sp2 hybridizations for positioning its lone pair of electron to match with sp2 hybridised carbon atom in the ring. Hence the sp2 hybridised N and C in ring fused to form pyrrole compound with stable resonance structure.

N always have to be sp2 for fusing with carbon ring for resonance is the base rule for molecular arrangement,

Regards.
