it isnt only schottky defect isnt it? it can also be vacancy and interstitial defect isnt it?
Schottky defect tends to decrease the density as a interstitial and a vacancy both are created.
Whereas in interstitial defect vacancy is not created but an interstitial atom exists hence density increases.
