Solve this:

11. If two molecules of A and B having mass 121 Kg and 81 Kg and rate of diffusion of A is 16   ×   10 - 3 , then what will be the rate of diffusion of B?

a   20 . 75   ×   10 - 3 b   20 . 75   ×   10 - 4 c   19 . 75   ×   10 - 3 d   20 . 75   ×   10 - 4

Dear student,
According to Graham's Law of Diffusion,
(rA/ rB) = ( MB / MA )1/2
(16 * 10 -3 / rB ) = ( 81 / 121 ) 1/2

( 16 * 10 -3 / rB ) = ( 9 / 11 )
rB = 16 *11 * 10-3 / 9
rB = 19.55 * 10 -3
The answer is (c)
